The Challenges

KicKee Pants offers products in an extensive range of colors and sizes, making the ability to search and filter by specific age ranges and shades particularly important. However, this proved a challenge with their native platform, as did controlling product arrangement throughout the online store.

The lack of advanced filter and sort options meant KicKee Pants’ shoppers had to scroll through pages of results just to locate the right styles, colors, and sizes for their needs. 

KicKee Pants needed a solution that would deliver the best results for their shoppers, making it as quick and easy as possible to find what they were looking for. And with frequent stock updates and collection drops, the latest arrivals and best sellers also needed to be easier to find – and ultimately, purchase.

The Solutions

After a recommendation from their agency, Praella, KicKee Pants partnered with Searchspring to enhance its online store’s search and merchandising capabilities – ultimately leading to higher customer engagement, conversion rates, and overall revenue.

Searchspring’s advanced reporting and insights have helped KicKee Pants identify frequently-used search terms and direct shoppers to the most relevant set of products with intelligent spell correction algorithms and synonyms.

KicKee Pants creates redirects so shoppers looking for the return policy or size chart can easily locate the information that matters most with a quick search that guides them to relevant pages. Streamlined filtering options have also been added, such as gender, size, and fabric, helping customers narrow down their search much faster. 

Boost rules also allow merchandisers to automatically promote new products and best-sellers to the top of pages site-wide, while at the same time, demoting items that fall out of stock. 

With the Searchspring and Yotpo integration, KicKee Pants can add additional sort options to their search results pages. Shoppers are able to sort results by star rating, giving them the control they need to find top-rated products even faster.

The Results

Since implementing Searchspring in January 2023, KicKee Pants has experienced a significant increase in search usage on their site, as well as a boost in orders and revenue driven by search.

During the last 90 days, 36% of KicKee Pants’ online orders were generated from search, making up 38% of their overall revenue. They also experienced a 2.7x higher revenue per visit from shoppers using search vs shoppers who do not.

Within the same time period, KicKee Pants has achieved a solid 2.2% Order to Review rate collecting a massive 754 reviews with Yotpo. The online retailer has also maintained a strong average star rating of 4.88 – tangible proof that shoppers love their products and overall online shopping experience.

In addition, KicKee Pants’ reviews program has captured an outstanding engagement rate of 52.2%, driving a remarkable 8.9% conversion rate and 60.8% of sales from shoppers who interacted with ratings and reviews powered by Yotpo.
