2021 has been a rollercoaster — full of ups and downs. Often unpredictable. Data from Cyber 5 Weekend 2021 searches revealed a shift from home goods to stylish, trendy clothing and shoes. This signals that people are ready to get out of the house and be active with their lives. After nearly two years of lockdowns and restrictions, they are ready for a change. The data collected also shows us that some things never change. Star Wars still dominated despite not having any big releases this year and mobile continues to be the preferred way to shop.

Some surprising revelations include searching retail shops using emojis, specifically the pants emoji, and Searchspring returned over 1k results for this search. While Cyber 5 Weekend as a whole is responsible for a third of Searchspring’s search traffic for the entire month of November, it’s worth noting that Black Friday remains the biggest shopping day of the year – even online.

Black Friday allows customers to feel like they are getting an incredible deal. This is why so many people choose to participate!
